Why I thought the 2010 winter Olympics were to be in Vancouver, WASHINGTON I don't know. Does it even snow there?? I never even thought Vancouver, Canada.
I'm ridiculous I know.
My cousin Camilla invited us over to hang with her and her husband the night of the opening ceremonies and while watching I began to feel so confused,
why is there so much emphasis on Canada?
I'm sure I would have figured it out (that the Olympics were IN FACT not in Washington State but in Canada) but of course I went ahead and asked that question aloud. Everyone just kind of looked at me, "DUH!" Yeah I get it now.
So here's the other thing, I totally thought Sasha Cohen was going to be at the Olympic games this year, but then I figured out (just yesterday while watching the ladies figure skating on Tivo, thank goodness for Tivo!) that she did not even make the Olympic team. She took a break for a while and then just expected to be able to make the team at Nationals in January where she placed 4th I believe. She makes me nervous, she often seems to "choke" in performance. Poor girl, I really did want to see her in Vancouver (Canada or Washington whatever), but I don't think she would have stood a chance against the amazing Asians this year.
Here is her attempt at making the team in January.....
beautiful skater but something is just not there.
Like most females I get excited to watch the figure skating events of the winter Olympics. This year I just keep thinking about watching it with my mom and sisters growing up, we all love it.
Here are some of the bests of the Olympics past.....
I love that she skates to music from the movie Anastasia. :)
Really wish she could have won the gold in SLC, but......
Sarah Hughes really did an AMAZING performance. So flowing and graceful, LOVE her.
I am excited to watch the women's long program skating tonight, I really hope Joannie Rochette will take a medal. I can't imagine competing in the Olympics after a death of a parent 2 days before!
My 3 favorite things about watching the Olympics?
1. Yelling "U.S.A." over and over again and cheering people on, I think it really does help. :)
2. Listening to Eric judge each competitor in there respective events.
3. When E gets excited while watching skating (especially pairs) and decides he wants to lift me up and practice cool tricks with me.
