New Callings

Last week in sacrament meeting we learned that our student married ward was being "dissolved" amongst a bunch of other student wards as there are many changes within the church and our area involving student wards. Our previous stake president encouraged us to now go our home family ward.. which is about 90 years old. That is, everyone in that ward is pretty much enjoying their lives with loss of hearing and great, great grandchildren.

Now, don't get me wrong, I really love "older" people, which is one of the reasons I loved Eric's home ward. We just felt that since we were going to be among the youngest in the ward, we would be blessed we an aboundance of callings.

Well...

Yesterday we were called to meet with the Stake President of the Provo 6th Young Single Adult stake. Eric informed the secretary that we were married already but they still wanted to meet within that day. Later we found ourselves accepting new callings from the Stake President. Eric will be the 2nd cousenlor to the Bishop of the Provo 149th YSA ward (I think that is the new name.. everything is different with all the changes), and I am the advisor to the Relief Society presidency.

Wow.

Didn't expect that to happen.

But here we are and we are so excited about it. They will both be fun, yet challenging callings, but nothing we are too afraid to handle.

I'm sure we'll blend in well, afterall... we were just in singles wards 2 years ago :)

Happy sunny Sunday!
